Subject: NARRATIVE HISTORICAL BACKGROUND AND PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION

One of the early community established by the Spaniards together with the former brgy Lemery is brgy Tuguis now brgy Almeñana. Old folks would narrate that tuguis was once a populous place consisting on many sitios that present were turned to a regular brgy. The name was deserved from a plant called tagbak which was abundant in the bank of Badbaran creek. This plant tagbak bear and edible and delicious fruit up to the root system called Tuguis. This fruit serves as secondary food among was once forested and virgin.

Thru a petition of the inhabitant the Municipal Council pass a resolution changing the name of brgy tuguis to Almeñana after the name of Jose Almeñana a philanthropist and well to do Mun. Officials of the Municipality who owns a vast area of land in the brgy and a donor of the school and brgy. Site.

The place can be reached is a Provincial Road that connects from brgy Nagsulang, in the west of brgy is Velasco, North is Sincua and West is brgy Pontoc Irrigation water can be easily tapped from Badbaran Creek. It has a complete elementary School that cater to the educational need of the people and the nearby barangay.

The barangay covers a wide area of public land which is topographically mountainous which serves a range pasture of the working animals of the farmers. The place can be tapped for three farm for future livelihood project of the populace. It is one the PUSH barangay of the Municipality.
