Subject: NARRATIVE HISTORICAL BACKGROUND AND PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION

LAYOG means tall and BATO means Stone. A tall stone was once spotted at the side of the highest mt. that caught the attention of people visiting the place. It is so distinctive that people easily named the place Layogbato. At present these stone can be found lying and crowded in the bank of the river because lighting happen to hit this landmark thereby breaking into half and it moved down from where it stand.

It is boundary brgy of the province of Iloilo and Capiz that portion of the community is claimed by the Municipality of Dumarao being covered by the MAR Resettlement Project. It is about 13 kms north of Poblacion. It is bounded by Municipality of Dumarao in the North, Yawyawan, Sincua and Pacuan in the East and the Municipality of Dumarao in the West.

It is one of the original brgy even before the separation of the Municipality of Lemery from Sara. It is and to note that because of the terrain it would be hard to construct the road network thus resident of the brgy has to walk for 3 kms in reaching brgy Yawyawan where it can take a ride when it is available.

People depends much of their livelihood from upland crops and livestock they raise. The place is so elevated that one could feel the coolness even at 5:00 PM Miguel De Asin was the first brgy Lt. of the place at present gold can be extracted from river bed that traverse in the brgy.
The place could be best suited for upland crops and tree farms.
