Subject: NARRATIVE HISTORICAL BACKGROUND AND PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION

Located 7.50 kms west of Poblacion is the last brgy of Lemery going to San Rafael. The name OMIO was derived from gesture of giving in abundance when pioneer named Iking Gorio as he is fondly called was an early settler a fundadores, (so the name was Iking Gorio Fundadores) at time of harvest would invite the ladies and gentlemen to a first harvest ceremonial party they called PAMAG-O. After a night of pounding premature rice done by the gentlemen and the ladies are doing cooking and cleaning. Iking Gorio at the closing ceremony would call everybody and give them a share of offering. The act of giving O INYO was coined giving a name to a community in abundance OMIO.
The community is bounded by the brgy Gerongan I the East, Bankal in the North, San Rafael in the West and part of the Municipality of Barotac Viejo in the South. The topography can be well identified as hilly and mountainous where farmers raised their crop and rice field as developed in the lowland.
Ceramics clay could be excavated just beneath the ground. The brgy are clannish and the family name ARES are dominant. It is believe that the present crop of ARES are part of the 5th generation since the founding of brgy Omio. It has a four grade school with two teachers serving the educational need of the populace.
